Who thinks they're good looking? Do many of you just study yourself in the mirror?

lol!

I look myself in the mirror and always think that my nose is weird-looking. I also hate my eye bags and my lips are just freaky. I have the weirdest hairline as well.

So yes, I don't think I'm attractive.

Inah, one more word and you get shot. You're pretty. Very Happy

To answer your question, I think I'm normal looking, not a beauty queen, not ugly- just very average.

I'm SOL I have no face. There is nothing to see. I once stood in front of a mirror for 3 hours trying to figure out how it works. I determined there is some witchcraft and wizardry going on.

I think there are some that would like your features, Inah.

Would it be vein if I said I'm very good looking?

I'm not complaining about my looks, I just think that I have a lot of flaws, but at the end of the day, no one can be perfect anyway.

And I don't think so, Beau. It's what you think.

You're allowed to complain as much as you want. I was just trying to make you feel better.

Talking about it makes me feel funny, so I guess that's a good thing, but when it comes to how I look, my self esteem isn't bad.

My hair can't be spiky now, it's too long. I'd have to use a lot of hair product to make it spiky!

I definitely don't study myself in the mirror, but I do think I'm good looking. I have flaws just like anyone else and I really don't find looks to be all that important, but I am confident enough with myself to think I am reasonably attractive.

I only look in the mirror to comb my hair. I don't care about my appearance really. Although I do worry a bit about my chubbiness...

I'm enjoying the responses. Thanks, guys.

When talking about 'flaws', I have an overbite, which I'm not fond of and my teeth could be straighter - my two front teeth in particular. If it wasn't for the overbite, I could possibly model - not that I would really want to do that. The tought actually makes me feel embarrased.

Though I think I should be happy with the overall appearance of my face. Even though I have an overbite, the shape of my jaw/chin is a good shape, my cheeks are well sexy (right, Mis?), girls pay to have lips like mine.

I have been called gorgeous, hot, sexy, adorable more than a few times. It definitely makes you feel good.

Appearence is something which for the most part, you cannot change. Just because your genes meant you were born with features society finds attractive does not make you any better than anybody else as a person. If somebody compliments my appearence, I appreciate it and thank them of course.

But it's more to do with manners as I find it silly to be cocky about something you didn't achieve. To be egotistical as a famous person is more understandable, or after winning sporting events etc. Those are things you earn, and achieve. If you are born with an appearence which society looks at as attractive then you shouldn't be egotistical of this. It's something you got lucky with, and therefore something you should be humble about.

I find comments on my actual personality to mean far more than my appearence. I'm not going to make out I'm someone who never judges by appearence as everybody does that. However, being cocky or boasting about your appearence is something I really dislike. I will never whine or complain of any injustice as there are people born with severe physical defetcs.

^^I would say for the most part that would be true. But there are things you can change. Say how you wear your hair, or maybe contacts that change your eye colour, etc. Eventually, it all still comes down to personality as you mentioned and I would much rather have a good personality with average looks as opposed to the other way around.

^ There are things you can change, and even more so these days with plastic surgery. But generally, you are born a certain way and there isn't really much you can alter without turning into something like Michael Jackson...

I went through a period when I was very nervous to speak to girls for some reason and I spoke to a counselor and she asked why I should be nervous when I'm gorgeous looking. It didn't make me not be nervous though, if anything, it made me more nervous! I was too nervous to get girl's attention and when you're good looking, you're going to get their attention.

I think MF and baba made some interesting points. I don't know that I agree completely. I don't think that famous people are much different from those who are not famous but deemed attractive by society. Maybe the reason they are famous is because of the family they were born into, a genetic gift of intelligence, a natural talent for making people laugh, genetic athletic ability, etc. Then there are the people who model who are famous just for their attractiveness and poise. I just feel like no one really has more of an excuse to be egotistical than anyone else.

I have found that for me outward attractiveness is overrated. I find that personality and attitude often affect how I perceive a person's physical attractiveness once I get to know them. People I thought were pretty or handsome turned out to be a lot less so after spending time with them or vice versa.

I wonder too how much of our personalities is actually controllable and how much it is predetermined by our genes and upbringing. While I also appreciate compliments about my personality much more than those about my appearance, I am not convinced that one is more who I am than the other.[/url]
